TLDR: 11 small, severely overcooked shrimp split between two adult entrees. Big let down as this is a splurge dinner for us. We eat here frequently (4-6 times a year), though not as often anymore since we (like everyone else) have had to cut our eating out budget. We came last night to have a celebratory dinner. Our server was fantastic. My husband asked for the diavolo (with only shrimp, since the scallops and mussels tend to be “fishy”, not just here but at many local restaurants for some reason), and I had the capellini with pink sauce (which also has mushrooms and shrimp). I wanted to post this because between our two entrees there were exactly 11 small shrimp, and they were so overcooked we couldn’t cut them in half with a fork without effort. We sort of understood there being just 6 in his pasta because he had other things removed, and although we thought they might substitute additional shrimp, we didn’t ask, and the pasta was good and spicy regardless. But the 5 total in the capellini entree was a big shift from previous visits (where we both remember being so happy and grateful for the 8-10 included). Everything about Rizzi’s was spot on! Nice family-type atmosphere. The white bean soup was exceptional! The pork osso buco was fall off the bone, melt in your mouth tender. I could have finished off the osso buco sauce with a straw…it was THAT flavorful. But the best part was Lessa, her energy was bountiful & customer service skills were phenomenal. Will definitely be back!

I had the pasta del Mar fra diavalo and must say it was delicious. Very good with just the right amount of heat. I also had the calamari and that was delicious too. Perfectly cooked with a very nice light crust. I will definitely will be going back!

Best Italian food I’ve had since moving to Peoria! The atmosphere right when you walk in is cozy and inviting. The staff are incredibly sweet and it really seems like they enjoy working here which I feel is extremely important. The food is well worth the cost. Everything came out quickly and was delicious! The bread was perfectly soft on the inside with a nice crust. The lemon basil martini is the best martini I’ve ever had. The starters were satisfying without being overly filling and the portion sizes on the mains were perfect. Also a small thing but I love that they do their side salads with mixed greens and not iceberg lettuce. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Great neighborhood Italian spot with nice atmosphere. Classy without being stuffy. Food and service were excellent. Wine list has some inspired choices, we really enjoyed the Vermentino from Sardinia. Fresh baked bread and hearty portions leave scant room for dessert, but the excellent tiramisu is worth a burst button or two!
